Patricia S. Curry: Ms. Curry is enrolled in the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing and will graduate August, 2010. She obtained her first degree (B.S.) in nuclear medical technology. She believes that one of the keys to health in the African-American community is education. She desires to become more active as an advocate in the African-American community. She has coordinated several health fairs from her church base. Additionally, she received the "Boundless Missionary Award" for assisting elderly members of her church in order for them to secure adequate housing and prescription medications. Her future plans include following her interest in cardiology and eventually becoming a nurse practitioner.
Beaonica Snead: Ms. Snead is enrolled in Auburn University School of Nursing, Auburn, and will graduate May, 2010. She believes that through networking and being involved on campus she is able to show her commitment and dedication in various aspects of service. One of her achievements was to become an intern in the INROADS Program. The mission of INROADS is to develop and prepare talented minority youth and to place them in business and industry for experiences in corporate and community leadership. She desires to continue her education and to seek an advanced degree to become a nurse anesthetist.
